I have a naturally thick and wavy hair to begin with. And in the past, since I was highschool, I would have it maintained by rebond. I don’t know what has gotten into me but here in the Philippines, silky straight hair was a trend. Whenever I notice some waves are already showing up, I would have it retouched.
Two years ago, after my last rebond touch-up, I noticed that some of my hair was broken. It felt very dry, brittle and damaged. And so I decided to have it rested for awhile and not undergo chemical treatments anymore. Last year, I was just about to trim my hair when the stylist did it wrong. My then-bra length hair was chopped unto few-inches-from-the-shoulder length. I didn’t liked it but now I am thankful because majority of the rebonded parts are chopped. I decided to grow it longer and then I’m fantasizing of having it permed.

My long rebonded hair with some roots showing up

The short hair =))

After a few months, the waves are getting more prominent. Though the ends are still rebonded.

You see, my hair is really really thick. Like a lion’s mane LOL. And I loved it MORE THAN my stick straight hair before.
And then I decided to give digital perm a go. I want something different as well. Especially when I found out that they have a promo package. Got it done at Tony and Jackey SM Dasma. Half rebond half perm- as the stylist suggested. The price is 5,000. The package was supposed to be 3,500 only, but as I’ve said, the upper half was rebonded. Availed the L’Oreal Package.

Waited for about 5 hours to have my hair done. =)) The result?

After a week:

I had tight curls as you can see, but its getting looser and looser as time goes by. Yes, I’m still adjusting now that I realized that permed hair is really high maintenance. Plus, getting used to not combing! =))
I’m loving the curls! <3 I want it longer. And I do hope I can maintain it well- because I really don’t know how to take care of hairs to start with.
Since I’m new to the perming world, I need your help! I’m still figuring out what products will work best for my new hair. And have been researching alot about the maintenance and styling techniques.
Any suggestions for good products and tips for styling? :)
